Winter School Modules

This Winter’s pedagogical program includes five hands-on seminars and workshops led by recognized practitioners and experts in their respective fields. In each course, We will focus on chaining and templates of large language models (LLMs) to leverage Generative AI using case studies, workshops, seminars, and expert testimony.

Leveraging Large Language Models

In this seminar, participants will discuss the conditions in which LLM technologies can solve concrete business problems in the Finance, Service, and IT Sectors. Based on the BAI Executive Report on the same theme, the discussion will focus on the specificity of Generative AI, the mechanics of large language models, the justification and the value of building upon application frameworks, and what business practices can help transform good ideas into effective practice.

Building a Speaking Virtual Assistant with Advanced Retrieval Techniques

In this workshop, participants will develop a LLM-powered Virtual Assistant. This hands-on experience will cover a range of topics necessary to build a virtual assistant that seamlessly integrates question answering and chat functionalities. Participants will gain expertise in developing a one-pass question answering solution, creating a multi-purpose chatbot, and implementing advanced data retrieval techniques to enhance information access. Additionally, the workshop will delve into the integration of text-to-speech and speech-to-text capabilities to provide a seamless and interactive user experience.

Designing a knowledge management system

In this immersive workshop, participants will learn how to leverage an AI Reasoning System in building their own knowledge management system. Participants will delve into the intricacies of utilizing LLMs with application frameworks to query and efficiently retrieve information, harnessing the strengths of various language models to enhance human-machine interfaces. Attendees will create sequences of operations using chains to streamline knowledge processes. Finally, the workshop will help participants develop advanced reasoning capabilities using agents, paving the way for smarter and more intelligent knowledge management systems.

Building an Autonomous Task Management System with AutoGPT and LangChain

In this advanced workshop, participants will develop a cutting-edge Autonomous Task Management System by combining the power of AutoGPT and LangChain. The workshop will provide an in-depth understanding of the principles underpinning AutoGPT, with a specific focus on using AutoGPT for handling complex tasks. Moving forward, the workshop will then recreate this functionality using LangChain's Plan-and-Execute to streamline task automation. Finally, attendees will build and document a framework for their own autonomous task management system.

Keeping the Human in the Loop

Large language models can potentially provide the keys to more effective human–machine interaction. In reviewing the deliverables of the session’s previous workshops, participants will explore the critical success factors of collaborative intelligence: developing human agency, addressing implicit bias, ensuring managerial accountability, and fostering innovation. Attendees will address the processes and the metrics needed to demonstrate that these business ready applications positively impact organizational activities and outcomes. .
