The 2025 BAI Summer School will focus on how AI Agents and Agentic Systems are shaping Banking and Fintech.

The pedagogical program includes seminars, workshops and expert testimony to help management students and professionals understand the opportunities and challenges of building their Data Science careers in this highly competitive industry:

Agency in Artificial Intelligence – This introductory course explores the fundamental concepts and architecture of AI agents - autonomous systems that can perceive their environment, make decisions, and take actions to achieve specific goals. Participants will examine core principles like rationality and autonomy, key frameworks for agent design, and practical considerations in developing agentic systems, while exploring the potential of collaborative intelligence and artificial social intelligence.

Web3 and the Future of Finance – This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the intersection of Web3 technologies and decentralized finance (DeFi) using NEAR Protocol as the blockchain platform and Rust as the coding language. Students will explore the foundational concepts, technologies, and applications shaping the decentralized web and its transformative impact on financial systems.

Building Valuable Financial Services – this hands-on integrative workshop is designed to help the participants work with data science platforms, a range of the industry’s algorithms, and customer data to model realistic customer scenarii and propose specific service scenarios under the supervision of a Financial Data Science team manager.

Applied Data Science in Fintech – in this tailored conference you will learn how to process structured and unstructured data using modern analytics tools. You will also learn how to apply machine learning and blockchain technology to help develop Fintech businesses.

AI for Good – this unique symposium will explore the ethical challenges of working with data in Banking and Finance. In addressing the opportunities identified in the session’s seminars and workshops, this workshop will focus on the specific challenges of developing human potential, the consequences of implicit bias, the evolution of managerial responsibilities, and revisit the innovator’s paradox.
