Course Curriculum

The 2024 BAI Summer School will focus on how Data Science is shaping Banking and Fintech.

The pedagogical program includes seminars, workshops and expert testimony to help management students and professionals understand the opportunities and challenges of building their Data Science careers in this highly competitive industry:

AI and the transformation of Banking and Finance – this interactive seminar will explore how European retail and investment banks are enlisting machine learning to accelerate the transformation of their business models, as well as the personalization of key business processes from the customer front end to deep in the back office.

Building Valuable Financial Services – this hands-on integrative workshop is designed to help the participants work with data science platforms, a range of the industry’s algorithms, and customer data to model realistic customer scenarii and propose specific service scenarios under the supervision of a Financial Data Science team manager.

Applied Data Science in Fintech – in this tailored conference you will learn how to process structured and unstructured data using modern analytics tools. You will also learn how to apply machine learning and blockchain technology to help develop Fintech businesses.

The Work of a Data Science team – guest speakers from Europe’s traditional banks, as well the leading FinTech operations, will share and discuss the role of Data Science in their organizations, the challenges of their assignments, as well as discuss employment expectations and opportunities.

AI for Good – this unique symposium will explore the ethical challenges of working with data in Banking and Finance. In addressing the opportunities identified in the session’s seminars and workshops, this workshop will focus on the specific challenges of developing human potential, the consequences of implicit bias, the evolution of managerial responsibilities, and revisit the innovator’s paradox.
